Member of Hamas’s Political Bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk on Wednesday asked the Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas to lift the sanctions he imposed on the Gaza Strip.
Abu Marzouk called on Abbas via Twitter to abide by the agreements signed between Fatah and Hamas and to help his people in the besieged Gaza Strip.
The Hamas official denounced Abbas’s latest accusations that Hamas is “taking the Palestinians in Gaza hostage” and supporting the Deal of the Century.
“Why would not you do the opposite and solve the worsening electricity water and salaries crises?” he added.
Abbas in April 2017 decided to wage a series of punitive measures against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip including cutting 50%-70% of the salaries of Gaza employees forcing thousands of them into early retirement and reducing medical and power supplies to the besieged territory.
These sanctions come at a time when Washington is seeking to launch a dangerous plan known as the Deal of the Century which is an Israeli-US attempt to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
