Member of Hamas’s political bureau Sami Abu Zuhri has warned of the Israeli intents to stage mass settler break-ins at the Aqsa Mosque to mark Jewish holidays in the coming days describing it as a serious escalation.
“The Zionist policy of Judaization that targets Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque which is expected to reach its climax during the Jewish holidays represents a dangerous escalation against our people nation religion and holy places” Abu Zuhri said in press remarks on Saturday.
“We are facing a stage of serious and unprecedented challenges targeting the Palestinian cause as a result of the Arab situation and the normalization race in the region” the Hamas official added.
“Our message at this sensitive stage is that the Aqsa Mosque belongs to the entire Ummah (nation) so it must shoulder its historical obligations and religious responsibilities towards its Mosque because this ongoing Judaization will lead the situation to explode” he said.
Jewish groups and settlers plan in the coming days to organize mass break-ins and preform provocative practices at the Aqsa Mosque amidst calls by Palestinian figures and activists on Muslim worshipers to keep a vigil at the Mosque at all times.
They have also announced their intents to practice different Talmudic rituals to mark the Hebrew new year during their intended mass desecration of the Mosque including the blowing of the shofar — a ram’s horn that is trumpeted before and during major Jewish holidays.
