Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri has warned that the US decision to freeze funding for UNRWA is aimed at eliminating the Palestinian refugees’ right of return.
“This decision comes in the context of a grave American scheme to take away the Palestinian national rights and it is a continuation of Trump’s decision on Jerusalem” Abu Zuhri stated in Twitter remarks on Sunday.
The US administration has frozen a $125 million grant to UNRWA a UN agency supporting Palestinian refugees which was supposed to be delivered on January 1 different news outlets cited western diplomatic sources as saying.
The amount frozen is one-third of the annual funding the US provides the UN refugee organization.
