GAZA (PIC)– Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri a Hamas spokesman belittled the importance of wagering on the optimistic tone sounded by PA chief Mahmoud Abbas and US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice over the possibility of achieving success in the autumn conference.
In a press release Abu Zuhri considered this optimism a continuation of clinging to illusions on the grounds that the conference would be held actually to serve the Zio-American interests.
The spokesman confirmed Hamas’s belief that any results emerging from this conference will be only for the benefit of Israel and the USA pointing out that the PA chief’s recent optimistic statements on the autumn conference is only based on American false promises the Palestinian people got used to hear.
On another issue spokesman for the caretaker government Taher Annono condemned on Tuesday following the weekly cabinet meeting the Israeli military campaign against the Palestinian people and their elected MPs as well as the fierce campaign waged by the PA security apparatuses against the Palestinians wanted by Israel.
The spokesman condemned the resumption of abduction policy by Israel where its troops recently kidnapped MP Hatem Qufaisha from Al-Khalil city considering the kidnapping of MPs a crime aimed at undermining the Palestinian legislative institution.
The spokesman called on the Red Cross and human rights organizations to work for the immediate release of all MPs including the PLC’s speaker Dr. Aziz Dwaik holding at the same time the IOA fully responsible for his deteriorating health state.
The spokesman warned the PA leadership of going too far in its campaign aimed at eradicating the Palestinian resistance denouncing the PA security apparatuses for assaulting the Aqsa Brigades in Nablus and for collaborating with the Israeli occupation.
In another development Khaled Al-Batesh a leader of the Islamic Jihad Movement expressed his fears of attempts by some parties close to the PA chief to reproduce a secret document with the Israelis waiving the Palestinian constants especially the Palestinian refugees’ right of return and occupied Jerusalem.
Batesh underlined that the attempt to reproduce the Geneva document under the current circumstances confirms previous doubts about those who stand behind it pointing out that the Palestinian people and the late Palestinian chief Yasser Arafat had openly rejected that document.
The Islamic Jihad leader renewed his movement’s rejection of all meetings and negotiations conducted with the Israeli occupation asserting that these meetings only serve the interests and colonial schemes of the “Zionist entity”.
