Palestinian activists on Friday called on the Palestinians living in Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied territories to flock to al-Aqsa Mosque next Sunday.
This came in response to calls by Israeli settler groups for mass break-ins into the holy site on 22nd July to mark the so-called Tisha B’Av (Destruction of Jerusalem’s Temple).
The activists warned of the large number of Israeli settlers expected to visit the Mosque where Talmudic rituals are scheduled to be performed.
Settler incursions into al-Aqsa Mosque have been stepped up recently with ministers and members of the Knesset included. Based on Israeli reports the number of settler break-ins carried out into the Mosque since the beginning of 2018 are unprecedentedly high.
