Human rights activists on Tuesday called on the international community to urgently intervene to put an end to the Israeli attacks against Palestinian citizens in Gaza border areas.
During a workshop organized by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights in Gaza city the activists stressed that an immediate action is needed to force the Israeli occupation forces to stop their violations against Palestinian workers and fishermen in the Gaza Strip’s land and sea buffer zones.
They called for opening the border crossings and expanding the fishing area and asked the Israeli authorities to release the prisoners who were arrested in these areas and compensate the Palestinian workers and fishermen for their confiscated equipment and the damages caused during the attacks.
The Palestinian activists stressed the importance of empowering the agriculture and fishing sectors by enabling the entry of the necessary equipment into Gaza and allowing Gazan farmers to export their products.
