Activists open Khan al-Ahmar’s entrance

Wednesday 12-September-2018

Hundreds of Palestinian activists managed late Tuesday to open the entrance to Khan al-Ahmar village east of occupied Jerusalem after being earlier closed by the Israeli army.

The local activist Abdulallah Abu Rahma affirmed that the activists succeeded to open the village’s gate few hours after being closed by Israeli forces as a prelude to evacuating and demolishing it on Wednesday.

More numbers of Palestinian and foreign activists are expected to join others who were earlier able to enter the village despite the Israeli tight restrictions.

Abu Rahma warned of Israeli military restrictions at the entrances to the village saying that such measures reveal Israeli intention to implement the court’s demolition order against the Bedouin village.

Last week the Israeli high court of justice rejected a petition against the demolition of Khan al-Ahmar and said a temporary injunction that had put a hold on the move would lapse in a week.
