Palestinian activists who recently launched a campaign calling for lifting Gaza sanctions staged a protest on Sunday at the headquarters of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Ramallah city.
The activists rallied inside the PLO headquarters carrying placards demanding the PLO to lift the sanctions imposed on Gaza.
They also asked for meeting PLO officials but employees and security guards there refused their request and ordered them to leave the place and stop filming the protest.
A few months ago the Ramallah-based government decided at the behest of Palestinian Authority (PA) president and PLO chairman Mahmoud Abbas to impose several sanctions on Gaza.
Those punitive measures included shrinking salaries for thousands of civil servants depriving patients of receiving treatment abroad reducing the power supply and cutting off medical supplies.
