Director of Rafah border crossing in Gaza Hisham Adwan said there is no information on the opening of Rafah crossing before Eid al-Fitr holiday.
In an exclusive statement to the PIC Adwan pointed out that no information in this regard had been received from the Egyptian side.
Adwan’s statement coincided with the opening of Rafah crossing for the first time in 100 days for the entry of diesel fuel into Gaza Strip in order to run its sole power plant which has been shut down for nearly two months.
Eight trucks loaded with 450000 liters of diesel entered Gaza through the crossing. Similar quantities of fuel are expected to enter the blockaded coastal enclave on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning he said.
The Palestinian official hoped that the entry of trucks would usher the start of a new development in trade relations between Egypt and Gaza.
