Muslim scholars from 14 African countries stressed the urgent need to support Jerusalem and to confront Israel’s penetration attempts into Africa.
The recommendations were made during the closing session of the Quds Conference 2 which was held in in Nouakchott for three days under the slogan “Africa renews its support to Jerusalem.”
The conference also called for strengthening the African peoples’ solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
The three-day conference has been held amid large African and Palestinian participation.
Several delegations representing African countries have participated in the conference including Senegal Mali Ivory Coast Burkina Faso Togo Benin Guinea Bissau Guinea Conakry Niger Cameroon Nigeria and Gambia.
The conference aimed at strengthening the link between Africa and Palestine especially in light of the Israeli Prime Minister’s visit to a number of African countries.
