On March 5 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to visit US President Donald Trump in Washington the White House reported. This meeting marks the fifth time the two have met since Trump took office.
Earlier this week Netanyahu told Likud officials that the issue of asserting Israeli sovereignty to the West Bank had been discussed with US officials. These statements were strongly denied by the White House.
The White House responded to the statement “Reports that the United States discussed with Israel on annexation plan for the West Bank are false. The United States and Israel have never discussed such a proposal and the president’s focus remains squarely on his Israeli-Palestinian peace initiative” the White House said.
