Agha: The government will not dispose of any employee in Gaza

Senior Fatah official Zakaria al-Agha said that the Palestinian government’s administrative and legal committee would examine the issue of the Gaza civil servants on that the basis that no one should be disposed of.

In remarks to al-Aqsa satellite channel on Thursday al-Agha stated that during the four-month mission of the committee the civil servants in Gaza would receive from the government quick regular payments.

He affirmed that “the agreement that was signed in Cairo under Egyptian auspices is different from previous ones because there are a timeframe and a mechanism for the implementation of each point agreed upon.”

Speaking about enabling the government to carry out its duties in Gaza he said that the government already started assuming its responsibilities after it came to Gaza two weeks ago.

He also allayed public fears over the reluctance to revoke soon the measures that were taken lately by Palestinian Authority (PA) chief Mahmoud Abbas against Gaza expressing his belief that there would a presidential edict in the near future removing all those measures.

For his part senior Hamas official Hasan Yousef stressed the need in press remarks for addressing all outstanding issues in the West Bank quickly especially with regard to the political detainees in PA jail freedoms employment and the persecution of national and resistance cadres.

He also called for necessarily believing in partnership with other national factions and not monopolizing the Palestinian decision-making.
