RAFAH (PIC)– The Egyptian authorities on Sunday night allowed the return of around 3000 Palestinians who were stranded at the Egyptian side of the borders back into Gaza and about 100 Egyptians back to their country.
An agreement to the effect was reached between Egyptian security authorities and Palestinian police in the PA interior ministry in Gaza.
Tens of thousands of Palestinian citizens managed to cross the borders into Egypt after the border fence was knocked down at several points by frustrated citizens who have been under siege for almost two years that was tightened eight months ago.
Witnesses said that Palestinians were carried in 50 Egyptian vehicles and were allowed passage through the Salahuddin border gate.
The coordination was meant to control the borders and to ensure the safe return of civilians of both countries to their relatives both parties emphasized.
