Al-Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas has urged the Arab and Muslim nations to actively mark the International Quds (Jerusalem) Day describing it as “a springboard for the liberation of Jerusalem and Palestine and a special occasion to bring both nations together around this noble end.”
“It is time for the nation to triumph for its Jerusalem and Aqsa Mosque and blow off the dust of shame” a spokesman for the Brigades said in a televised statement posted on al-Qassam website.
The spokesman called on the Arab and Muslim nations to “direct their compass towards Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque” and end what he described as “the side battles that divided them and decayed their body.”
The International Quds Day is an annual event held on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan that was initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979 to express support for the Palestinians and oppose Zionism and Israel especially its occupation of Jerusalem.
