Algerian president Abdul-Majid Tebboune has reiterated his country’s principled and firm position in support of the Palestinian people and their struggle for their usurped rights which are enshrined in the international law.
In his message to the world on Monday on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people president Tebboune said that such an occasion confirms the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights especially their right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
“It is also an opportunity to remind the international community of its historical political legal moral and humanitarian responsibilities towards the Palestinian people” the Algerian president added.
“What the Palestinian people need is to have the international solidarity with them translated into practical steps and executive measures which entails a serious and firm stance from the international community especially from the Security Council and the General Assembly to not only put an end to the occupation state’s intransigence and its refusal to abide by the international law and resolutions but also to effectively and strongly oppose the settlement system that is used by the occupation to undermine any chance to achieve the two-state solution” he underscored.
He stressed the need for the international community “to activate the necessary mechanisms for the judicial and criminal prosecution of the occupation state to hold it accountable for its growing violations and also to provide international protection for the defenseless Palestinian people.”
“Showing solidarity with the Palestinian people is not limited to giving speeches but rather there should be effective plans that lead to the achievement of a final solution that helps them live with dignity and full sovereignty on their own land” the president said.
