Israeli occupation authorities a few days ago subjected the Palestinian prisoner and leader of al-Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas Movement Abdullah al-Barghouthi to interrogation by an American court via video conference. Barghouthi was charged with responsibility for killing American citizens during anti-occupation attacks he supervised during al-Aqsa Intifada.
Sources wishing to remain anonymous told the PIC that the American court questioned Barghouthi for four hours after he was transferred from Gilboa jail to the court yard in Occupied Jerusalem. The trial was adjourned after Barghouthi refuses to recognize the court along with the charges brought against him.
The sources pointed out that Barghouthi was severely beaten after the trial hearing because he refused to respond to investigators. He was returned to solitary confinement cells in Gilboa prison.
Abdullah al-Barghouti was arrested on March 05 2003. He served 14 years in Israeli prisons so far out of his 67 life terms. He was convicted of planning many anti-occupation operations. He spent several years in solitary confinement and went on an open hunger strike that lasted for 80 days.
