Anti-siege group asks for int’l efforts to break Gaza blockade

Sunday 23-April-2017

The National Anti-Siege and Reconstruction Movement Commission has appealed to international human rights groups and the world’s free people to make real efforts to break the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip for about 10 years.

This came during the national conference to break the siege on Gaza which was held in Gaza City on Saturday.

Chairman of the commission Ihab al-Ghusain held the Israeli occupation state and its instruments in the Palestinian Authority fully responsible for all the humanitarian suffering in the embattled and impoverished enclave.

Ghusain called for cooperation between all Palestinian factions to solve all the problems that affect the lives of the population in Gaza.

He also urged all concerned parties around the world to support the steadfastness of the Gaza population politically and economically.

For his part Hani al-Tawabta a senior official of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said that the blockade on Gaza and its subsequent crises are aimed at the Palestinian resistance and the steadfast population who have supported it for long years.

Tawabta added that the blockade on Gaza reflects some of the Palestinian people’s suffering under occupation warning of making new international agreements intended to undermine the Palestinian cause.
