Sunday 13-November-2016

A lawyer lodged an appeal at the Israeli Supreme Court to immediately release the Palestinian hunger-striker Anas Shedid due to a sharp health deterioration.

According to the Muhjat al-Quds Foundation for Prisoners Israeli medics at the Assaf HaRofeh Medical Center told Shedid that he is very likely to catch a hemiparesis and a sudden loss of vision.

The detainee has gone through a sharp health setback following 47 days of ongoing hunger strike in Israeli jails.

Prisoner Shedid has reportedly lost his ability to walk move and speak. He also suffers from chronic headaches stomachaches dizziness asthma and cardiomyopathy.

Muhajat al-Quds Foundation called on the governmental and non-governmental human rights institutions to urgently step in and pressure the Israeli occupation authorities to save the life of Shedid and other hunger-striking detainees before it is too late.

Born on June 7 1997 prisoner Shedid was kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces on August 2 2016 and transferred to administrative detention with neither charge nor trial which made him declare his hunger strike shortly afterwards.
