The al-Aqsa Mosque preacher Sheikh Mohammed Salim on Friday asked Britain to admit its “historical crime” and “ominous promise” to establish a Jewish state in Palestine.
During his Friday sermon at al-Aqsa Mosque Salim pointed to the conspiracies Britain was involved in against the Palestinian people as well as its crimes throughout history in which more than 60000 Muslims were killed in Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque.
Sheikh Salim condemned the celebration held by the British government on the centenary of the Balfour Declaration stressing that Britain should have instead worked to atone for the injustice it has caused to the Palestinian people.
He called for protecting al-Aqsa Mosque against the attacks and schemes targeting it and affirmed that the land of Palestine belongs to Palestinians only.
Hundreds of Muslim worshipers performed Friday prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque amid tight Israeli security measures.
