Sheikh Ismail Nawahdeh an Aqsa Mosque preacher has warned that Israel’s ongoing attempts to change the religious cultural and historical character of Occupied Jerusalem would trigger a widespread conflict in the region.
In his Friday khutba (sermon) Sheikh Nawahdeh highlighted Israel’s persistent violations against the Palestinians in the holy city and denounced in particular its systematic demolition of their homes.
He called for achieving Palestinian national unity and ending the division in the Arab and Islamic arenas in order to pool the efforts for the liberation of Palestine.
In this regard about 54000 Muslim worshipers observed the Friday khutba and prayer at the Aqsa Mosque amid intensive presence of Israeli police forces in its vicinity and the Old City.
