Dozens of peace activists have participated in planting dozens of olive trees alongside Palestinian farmers in Burin town south of Nablus on Friday.
Local sources said that about 300 Palestinian and foreign solidarity activists Peace Now activists and Arab MKs have participated in the solidarity action in support of the residents of Burin.
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) earlier blocked the entry of a number of buses carrying the solidarity activists who were forced to walk to the town despite the cold weather.
Both IOF soldiers and Jewish settlers were deployed in large numbers in the area in a failed attempt to prevent the activists’ entry.
During the past few weeks Jewish settlers attacked Burin village several times injuring many locals and damaging their property. None of the attacks were investigated by Israeli authorities.
