Armed Iraqi militiamen assassinate Palestinian writer in Baghdad

Tuesday 6-March-2007

GAZA (PIC)– A Palestinian refugee living in Iraq was murdered at the hands of armed Iraqi gangs that stormed his home in the Iraqi capital Baghdad Sunday and peppered him with bullets that instantly killed him.

A statement issued by the refugees’ affairs ministry in the PA caretaker government affirmed the killing incident and identified the victim as Ahmad Mustafa Al-Rabahi who works as a writer in Iraq. According to the statement Al-Rabahi was alone in his house during the armed assault.

The ministry condemned the killing of Rabahi and urged the Iraqi officials to immediately intervene to stop the series of bloody attacks on Palestinian refugees in that war-torn country.

More than 200 Palestinian refugees have been killed since the US-led invasion and subsequent occupation of that Arab country. Tens other were thrown into Iraqi and American-administered jails without charges or trials.
