Arrests and confrontations with IOF in West Bank and Jerusalem

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched on Friday night and at dawn Saturday a large-scale raid campaign in West Bank and Jerusalem. Clashes erupted and several Palestinians were arrested.

In Occupied Jerusalem clashes were described as violent in the Qalandia refugee camp after the Israeli police stormed its neighborhoods and searched several homes.

Local sources pointed out that the Israeli forces fired live bullets during these clashes. A Palestinian young man was injured with a bullet in his foot and his condition was classified as moderate.

The Israeli police also raided several houses including the homes of the martyrs Hussein Abu Ghosh Anan Abu Habsa and Issa Assaf where they took photos for these houses from the inside and outside.

Meanwhile the Israeli police deployed in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem and arrested two young residents of the neighborhood.

The Old City and the entrances to Al-Aqsa Mosque witnessed at dawn Saturday stringent measures at the military checkpoints and worshipers’ ID cards were seized by the Israeli police.

In al-Khalil IOF broke into Beit Kahil town northwest of al-Khalil in several military vehicles without any arrests reported.

In Nablus the IOF soldiers arrested four young men at a checkpoint they set up near the entrance to Yitzhar settlement south of Nablus.

The IOF soldiers continue their daily search and arrest campaigns during which they raid homes destroy property and terrorize residents especially women and children. These campaigns are followed by confrontations with Palestinian youths.

According to a periodic report issued by Hamas’s media office in West Bank the occupation forces committed 1854 violations against the Palestinians and their lands in the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem during October.

The report documented the death of two Palestinian civilians while 154 were injured and 384 were arrested. It said that 16 houses were demolished by IOF in the same period.
