The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested at dawn Friday the father and brother of Malek Hamed who carried out a car-ramming attack on Israeli soldiers on Thursday after violently breaking into Silwad town east of Ramallah.
Well-informed sources affirmed to the PIC reporter that Israeli forces stormed in large numbers the town at 3 am (local time) amid heavy firing of teargas bombs and prevented locals from performing Dawn prayers in the mosques which led to the outbreak of violent clashes.
Several houses were violently stormed and searched while a number of cars were confiscated. An amount of money was also stolen during the raids.
Father and brother of Malek Hamed who was yesterday shot and arrested by IOF for allegedly carrying out a car-ramming attack against a number of Israeli soldiers killing one of them and injuring another were rounded up according to the sources.
Violent clashes broke out following the raids and Israeli army reinforcements were sent to the town.
Hamed’s father was later released while his brother is still detained the sources pointed out.
Meanwhile IOF arrested two Palestinians from Bethlehem including an elderly after brutally storming and searching their houses.
Two similar arrests were carried out in Nablus to the north of the West Bank after IOF stormed in large numbers different neighborhoods in the city.
Several towns were also stormed west of Jenin where violent raid and search campaigns were carried out amid heavy firing of teargas bombs which led to power cut in some areas.
At least three youths were summoned for investigation in Salem military camp while no arrests were reported local sources told the PIC correspondent.
In Tulkarem an official in PA Preventive Security Services was arrested at an Israeli military checkpoint erected at the entrance to the city.
