Badran condemns PA for launching political arrest campaign in W. Bank

Thursday 3-January-2019

Member of Hamas’s political bureau Husam Badran has strongly denounced the Palestinian Authority (PA) for carrying out “politically motivated” mass arrests in the West Bank saying such practice serves the Israeli occupation state.

“The compass of the security authority in the West Bank still points towards the wrong direction when it uses its force and power against its own people” Badran said in press remarks on Wednesday.

He affirmed that the PA’s recent arrest campaign led to the detention of 60 Palestinian citizens in the West Bank with no regard for the Palestinian people’s suffering from daily Israeli violations and crimes.

The Hamas official warned that the arbitrary political arrests in the West Bank would “only bring fragmentation and weakness to the Palestinian people who need to close ranks and be united to face the challenges and the Zio-American aggressive practices and plans that target Jerusalem and the West Bank in particular and the Palestinian rights in general.”

The PA security forces have escalated its political arrest campaign recently targeting dozens of citizens mostly ex-detainees university students and national figures affiliated with Hamas.
