The acting speaker of the Palestinian legislative council Dr. Ahmed Bahar condemned the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) for the detention of the deported Jerusalemite deputy Ahmed Atoun after storming his house in Bethlehem on Friday.
“The kidnapping policy of parliamentarians is a crime against international law” Bahar stated in a press statement.
The acting speaker called on world parliaments and international institutions to break their silence regarding these repeated crimes against the Palestinian deputies take immediate action to stop the violation of parliamentary immunity and put an end to the Palestinian legislators detention.
“Serious action to pressure the occupation to end these arbitrary practices against the deputies must be taken. Standing silent before the occupation’s practices means encouraging them to further violate the international laws and covenants” Bahar explained
