GAZA (PIC)– Dr. Ahmed Bahar the acting speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council on Tuesday crossed the Rafah border terminal from Gaza Strip to Egypt at the onset of an Arab Islamic tour to explain Palestinian developments and to rally support for Palestinian issues.
Bahar in an exclusive statement to the PIC prior to his departure from the Rafah terminal said that the tour was prepared a long time ago adding that he would try to secure backing to the issue of the detained PLC members in Israeli occupation jails topped by PLC speaker Dr. Aziz Dwaik.
He added that he would inform the Arab countries and their parliaments on the brutal Israeli war on Gaza.
The PLC top official said that the PLC had received several invitations from Arab and Islamic parliaments and would try to respond to all invitations.
Means of restoring Palestinian unity detainees in occupation jails and the woes of occupied Jerusalem other than confiscation of lands in the West Bank and the Gaza siege would be on the agenda of all meetings Bahar elaborated.
Iyad Al-Qarra the media advisor to the PLC speaker said that the tour would include Syria Iran and Bahrain.
PLC sources said that the tour might expand to include other countries noting that the tour would target forming a pressure lobby to free the detained PLC speaker and members.
