GAZA (PIC)– Dr. Ahmed Bahar the acting speaker of the PLC held PA chief Mahmoud Abbas fully responsible for the failed bombing attempt on Saturday night against the PLC’s headquarters in Gaza city considering it part of ferocious criminal campaign targeting the PLC.
In a press conference held in Gaza on Sunday Dr. Bahar stated that PLC’s guards had found on Saturday evening a time bomb weighing 15 kg at the northern entrance to the PLC; meanwhile they had to summon explosives experts from the police who defused and neutralized the bomb.
The acting speaker opined that this attempt comes in view of the systematic provocative campaign waged by Ramallah team against the PLC adding that “the concurrence of this attack against the PLC in Gaza with Israeli aggressions against Gaza proves that the masterminds of this cowardly act aim to disturb the Palestinian arena in order to facilitate the IOF troops’ incursion into Gaza.
The acting speaker of the PLC also pointed out that the attack against the PLC by Fatah elements affiliated with the Aqsa Brigades was not the first time but was preceded by other assaults where they had burned the PLC and the house of speaker Dr. Aziz Dweik opened fire on MPs of change and reform bloc and kidnapped them.
For its part the interior ministry of the caretaker government confirmed in a statement received by the PIC that it “will not tolerate anyone who attempts to restore chaos to the Gaza Strip which spread during the presence of the former security apparatus” calling on the misguided elements of Fatah to return to righteousness and to stop cooperating with the mutiny trend in Ramallah.
The interior ministry pointed out that it arrested some suspects in the case and intensive investigations are underway.
