Israeli minister of the economy and industry Eli Cohen received an invitation last week from Bahrain to participate in the Startup Nations Ministerial conference to be held in mid-April next year in Manama.
Having already been hosted by the cities of Milan Istanbul Johannesburg and Medellin in previous years the annual conference which is an initiative of the World Bank and the Global Entrepreneurship Network will be taking place for the fifth consecutive year.
Senior government officials from all over the world are due to attend the conference to explore ways that would increase joint technological initiatives between different countries.
Cohen’s intended trip follows a number of visits made by high-level Israeli politicians to the Gulf states in recent weeks including premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Oman and culture minister Miri Regev’s trip to Abu Dhabi.
Recently the office of Netanyahu said the premier would also visit Sudan and Bahrain soon.
