Palestinian young men on Tuesday evening closed al-Quds street near Balata refugee camp east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank in protest at the Palestinian Authority’s persistence in its security campaign in their camp.
According to local sources several young men blocked the road with burning tires and garbage containers and obstructed the movement of vehicles.
Locals also reported hearing sporadic gunshots without knowing their source or motive.
Two days ago armed clashes broke out in the camp between security forces from the Palestinian Authority (PA) and gunmen. One officer was fatally injured during the events.
