Bank of Palestine has opened a branch headquarters in the Chilean capital city of Santiago which makes it the first Arab Bank with a branch in Latin America.
The opening ceremony was attended by governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority Azzam Shawwa and chairman of Bank of Palestine Hashim Shawwa.
“The bank’s branches in Dubai and Santiago will contribute to the development of an independent strong and stable Palestinian economy” Hashim Shawwa told a news conference during the ceremony.
Bank of Palestine’s new branch aims to build a commercial bridge between Latin America and the Middle East.
The Bank provides services for over five million people in Palestine and about eight million others worldwide.
