The Hamas leader and member of the Movement’s delegation in Cairo announced that the Egyptian authorities will open Rafah border crossing on Wednesday and Thursday.
In a press release on Monday afternoon Bardawil said the border crossing will be opened in one direction only for the return of the stranded people in the Egyptian side into the Gaza Strip.
Egypt opened Rafah crossing on Monday for the travel of the Gazan pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for Haj. Some 2500 Palestinian pilgrims are expected to leave Gaza via the crossing from Monday to Thursday.
According to the Palestinian Interior Ministry Rafah crossing has not been opened since the beginning of the year except for ten days only. It has been closed since last March and was opened for just four days for the arrivals only.
