Thursday 3-May-2007

DAMASCUS (PIC)– Dr. Mustafa Al-Barghouthi the PA information minister has expressed optimism that the ongoing Arab and Muslim media conference in the Syrian capital Damascus would give a big push forward for a wider international media campaign in support of the Palestinian people and their national issue.

In an interview with the PIC correspondent on Wednesday at the sideline of the conference Barghouthi urged the participating media men to unveil the truth of what is really happening in occupied Palestine and to unmask the Israeli atrocities against the unarmed Palestinian people.

“We hope we could rally as much Arab and Muslim media momentum as we could in order to influence the western media and to filter the Arab media of wrong Israeli stories and to unveil the truth as is” Barghouthi added.

Researches presented to the conference however focused on the legitimacy of the Palestinian resistance as well as the right of the Palestinian people and all people under occupation to retrieve their usurped lands with all available means which is also harmonizing with international laws and conventions.

The participants furthermore stressed the necessity of purifying Arab and Muslim media of the distortion of facts that the Zionist media injected in them especially information and facts on the Palestinian issue.

They also invited Arab and Muslim media apparatuses to talk to the world’s peoples in a modern language that would display justice and legitimacy of the Arab and Muslim issues especially the Palestinian question among other Arab and Muslim issues.
