Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative Dr Mustafa al-Barghouti strongly condemned the simmering assault by Israel’s undercover troops and soldiers into Birzeit University and the abduction of the student council head.
Barghouti said the assaults carried out by undercover patrols and military officers into Birzeit University represent flagrant violations of international laws granting the protection of academic institutions and prohibiting the violation of their sanctity.
Dr. Barghouti spoke out against the abduction of the head of the Birzeit Student Council Omar al-Kiswani and the live bullet fire discharged by the Israeli occupation forces on the students.
He called for the need to boost popular resistance in the face of such Israeli practices and in support of Palestinians’ anti-occupation struggle.
