Blair links establishment of Palestine to PA’s ability to eliminate resistance

Saturday 17-May-2008

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– Tony Blair the envoy of the international quartet to the Middle East linked the establishment of a Palestinian state to the PA security apparatuses’ ability to eliminate the Palestinian resistance in the West Bank.

In a press statement to the Israeli Jerusalem Post newspaper Blair said if the Israelis saw that the PA leadership failed to protect Israel’s security they would not agree to the existence of a Palestinian state.

The quartet’s envoy underlined that the PA security ability would be more effective soon whenever its forces who are currently training in Jordan were deployed in the West Bank especially in Jenin adding that the capacity and number of PA jails and judicial institutions should also increase.

In another context a statement on the sixtieth anniversary of the Nakba of Palestine by the Islamic Jihad Movement said that the Palestinian resistance would not accept the project of US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice which is based on chaos murder and terrorism and divides the Arab region highlighting that the future of the “Zionist entity” would be determined by resistance.

The statement underscored that Palestine from the sea to the river can never be relinquished and the option of resistance would be the only path to restore the usurped rights and confront the settlement projects which legitimize the occupation.

Commenting on Israeli news reports that the IOF troops intends to carry out a large-scale military assault on Gaza after the US president ends his visit to the region the Islamic Jihad announced its readiness to confront any possible Israeli aggression or incursion against the Gaza Strip.

The Movement opined that the Israeli statements come in the context of psychological warfare and are aimed to force the Palestinian factions to make concessions regarding the truce.
