Mai Al-Kailah the Palestinian Minister of Health announced on Thursday that two deaths and 297 new cases of the coronavirus were recorded in the West Bank and Gaza Strip during the last 24 hours.
Kailah confirmed in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that the recovery rate of the coronavirus reached 97.6 percent while the rate of active infections reached 1.3 percent and the death rate was 1.1% of all infections.
She noted that the new infections were distributed as follows: Jenin 14 Nablus 9 Tubas 1 Qalqilya 1 Bethlehem 4 Tulkarem 2 al-Khalil 6 Salfit 0 Jerusalem suburbs 0 Ramallah and Al-Bireh 0 Jericho and the Jordan Valley 0 and the Gaza Strip 260.
The new recoveries were recorded according to the following: Jenin 16 Nablus 17 Tubas 1 Qalqilya 3 Bethlehem 3 Tulkarem 14 al-Khalil 15 Salfit 0 Jerusalem suburbs 1 Ramallah and Al-Bireh 9 Jericho and Al-Aghwar 1 and the Gaza Strip 150 the minister added.
Kailah stated that the two deaths from the virus were reported in Nablus.
She pointed out that there are 22 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units including 3 who have been placed on ventilators.
Regarding the vaccination campaign the minister noted that the total number of people who received the corona vaccine in the West Bank and Gaza Strip reached 359349 including 231138 who received the two doses of the vaccine.
