Mai Al-Kailah the Palestinian Minister of Health announced on Friday that 29 deaths and 2193 new cases of the coronavirus were recorded during the last 24 hours.
Kailah confirmed in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that 25 deaths were recorded in the West Bank and 4 deaths in the Gaza Strip.
She said that 1916 new infections were reported in the West Bank while 277 new cases were recorded in the Gaza Strip.
The 2080 new recoveries were recorded as follows: 1875 in the West Bank and 205 in the Gaza Strip according to the minister.
Kailah pointed out that there are 187 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units including 56 who have been placed on ventilators.
She noted that the recovery rate of coronavirus reached 89.3 percent while the rate of active infections reached 9.6 percent and the death rate was 1.1% of all infections.
Meanwhile the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that 62000 coronavirus vaccines will arrive today and tomorrow.
Kamal Al-Shakhra the spokesman for the Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a press release that the quantity includes 24 thousand vaccine doses of the AstraZeneca and 38 thousand doses of the Pfizer vaccine. He added that health crews will start the vaccination with Pfizer vaccine next Sunday.
Regarding the epidemiological situation in Palestine Kailah clarified that the hospital occupancy rate reached its peak last week reaching 110%.
