COVID-19 in Palestine: 5 deaths 643 new cases within 24 hours

Mai Al-Kailah the Palestinian Minister of Health announced on Wednesday that 8 new deaths associated with COVID-19 (coronavirus) 643 new infections and 801 recoveries were recorded during the past 24 hours.

Kailah stated in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that the deaths were recorded for a male citizen 65 from Jericho a 70-year-old man from Al-Sawahra a woman 90 a male citizen from Ramallah and another male 72 from Gaza.

She added that the new infections were distributed according to the following: al-Khalil (48) Nablus (132) Bethlehem (24) Qalqilya (14) Ramallah and Al-Bireh (38) Jenin (32) Jericho and Al-Aghwar (8) Salfit (20) Tulkarem (17) Tubas (6) the Gaza Strip (300) and the suburbs of Jerusalem (4).

The recovery cases were recorded as follows: al-Khalil (65) Jenin (59) Nablus (139) Tulkarem (26) Salfit (16) Qalqilya (1) Bethlehem (235) and Gaza Strip (260) she said.

The minister pointed out that the recovery rate of coronavirus reached 88.4 percent while the rate of active cases reached 10.8 percent and the death rate was 0.8% of all infections.

Kailah underlined that there are 40 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units including 11 who have been placed on ventilators.
