Campaign of arrests in West Bank and Jerusalem

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched at dawn Wednesday a large-scale arrest campaign against Palestinians in various areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem.

In Ramallah IOF arrested Faris Shalabi and Nafez Hijaz from al-Mazra’a al-Sharqiya east of Ramallah.

In Beitin village east of Ramallah six Palestinian citizens were arrested while five others were arrested from Ein Yabroud village after the vehicle they were on was confiscated.

In Jenin IOF arrested the ex-prisoner Ahmed Melhem from Kafr Ra’i town and Bassem Tazazaa and Yusef Assaf from the neighboring town of Qabatiya.

Qabatiya town south of Jenin witnessed armed clashes after IOF raided the town during which local youths opened fire at the IOF soldiers.

In Al-Khader town south of Bethlehem the IOF soldiers arrested Hassan Salah and Samed Salah.

In Nablus IOF arrested Muhammad Abu Hantash Khaled Hashash and Azouz Hashash from Balata refugee camp. These two young men were passing through the Hawara military checkpoint to the south.

The released prisoner Muhammad Salama was arrested from his home on Al-Quds street in the city.

Meanwhile IOF arrested Afif Shalouf from Salfit near the scene of a traffic accident that killed an Israeli settler near Yitzhar settlement which is built on lands in southern Nablus.

On Tuesday the Israeli occupation authorities announced the death of an Israeli settler who was run over by a Palestinian car near the Yitzhar settlement junction in a traffic accident.

In al-Khalil IOF raided the Al-Qafeer area north of Yatta town. It arrested Muhammad Khaled Makhmara 25 the activist Khaled Al-Adra 50 Muhammad Jabareen 23 from Sa’ir town and Hamza Abu Sel 23 from Al-Arroub refugee camp.

IOF also searched a number of citizens’ homes in Yatta including the house of the martyr Khaled Makhmara and tampered with its contents.

In al-Issawiya town east of Occupied Jerusalem the Israeli police arrested Mahmoud Abu Roomi after raiding his home.
