OCCUPIED PALESTINE (PIC)– Palestinian Youth launched a campaign to boycott an international company for its participation in a marathon in occupied Jerusalem calling on public sports to raise banners against the company during matches sponsored by it to realize its fault.
The campaign stated in its first statement that “sports have always stood for freedom justice equality and against racism.” It gave as an example the boycott imposed by many sports associations such as the English Rugby League against the Pretoria regime of apartheid in South Africa a step which had a great impact on the dismantling the apartheid regime.
The campaign condemned many international companies including Adidas the manufacture of sports clothing and shoes that sponsored “this unfortunate event” which is held by the occupation on a route between East Jerusalem and West Jerusalem in an attempt to prove that Jerusalem is the capital of their state in total violation to the spirit of freedom equality and justice for which sports competitions are held.
The campaign thanked Arab Sports Federation that has announced the boycott of all companies that sponsor the Marathon led by “Adidas” for their contribution in spreading hatred and racial discrimination and their support for the Israeli occupation in Palestine which is killing thousands of Palestinians and bars millions from returning to their homes in the greatest human tragedy after World War II.
Meanwhile ministers of Sports and youth Arab countries announced the Arab boycott of Adidas from contributing and sponsoring all Arab sports activities.
