QUEBEC (PIC)– Two Canadian federal ministers have urged their country not to host a meeting for the international parliamentary union (IPU) in the event Hamas lawmakers attended the conference.
The Canadian QMI news agency quoted those ministers as saying that Hamas MPs were not welcome in Canada which enlisted Hamas as a terrorist organization.
They said that cost of hosting the Hamas parliament members would be paid by Canadian taxpayers in the conference scheduled for 21-26 October.
The 143-member IPU was established in 1889.
