GAZA (PIC)– The PA caretaker government has called on the Arab countries to assume their historic responsibility towards the Palestinian people and to work on curbing the Israeli aggressions particularly against the Palestinian prisoners leaders and governmental sectors.
At the conclusion of the cabinet’s weekly meeting on Tuesday evening its spokesman Taher Annono called on the Red Cross and local and international human rights organizations to exert efforts to get the Palestinian prisoners released and meanwhile to alleviate their suffering inside Israeli jails.
The spokesman also urged the Palestinian people to participate in the mass marches and activities in protest at the Israeli repression practiced against the Palestinian prisoners as well as at the Israeli escalation of assassinations in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip calling on media outlets to shed more light on such Israeli crimes.
The caretaker government also condemned the assaults committed by the PA security apparatuses in Al-Khalil city in the southern West Bank against a peaceful spontaneous march in solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli Negev prison.
The government considered such acts a “heinous crime” and questioned the role of PA security apparatuses which collaborate with the Israeli occupation within the mutual security coordination.
The government highlighted the right of Palestinian refugees to return to the homes and lands they were expelled from and expressed its shock and dismay over the statements of French president Nicolas Sarkozy on this inalienable right which is confirmed by UN resolutions.
It also expressed deep regret for Indonesia’s approval to attend the autumn conference denouncing PA chief Mahmoud Abbas for inviting other countries for free normalization with the Israeli occupation.
