GAZA (PIC)– The PA caretaker government under premier Ismail Haneyya has affirmed its rejection of any political settlement to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict that curtails the Palestinian people’s national rights.
Taher Al-Nono the government’s spokesman in a statement late Saturday stressed that any settlement concluded by the Palestinian negotiating team would not represent the Palestinian people.
The statement came in the wake of media reports that the PA presidency’s negotiating team with Israel might accept certain principles that fell short of achieving the Palestinian national rights as endorsed by the national concord document approved by all Palestinian factions.
The government also condemned the IOF military escalation against northern and southern areas in the Gaza Strip charging that the attacks were part of the Israeli government’s attempt to heighten tensions in the Strip.
It urged Arab and Islamic states along with peace loving countries to adopt a firm position against this Zionist policy of aggression and to end the oppressive siege imposed on the Palestinian people.
The government finally asked the media to scrutinize news reports before publishing them strongly denying a news report that spoke of differences between Haneyya and Hamas MP and former foreign minister Dr. Mahmoud Al-Zahhar.
