Sunday 27-September-2020

Dozens of civilians were injured on Saturday by metal bullets and tear gas canisters during the clashes that erupted with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Qusra and Kafr Qaddum towns in the northern West Bank.

Local sources reported that clashes broke out between Qusra’s inhabitants and IOF soldiers after they stormed the town to protect a group of Jewish settlers who were attacking two poultry farms near the town.

Qusra’s inhabitants confronted the settlers and threw stones at them after calls for confronting the settlers were raised through the mosques’ loudspeakers. Then IOF soldiers stormed the area to secure protection for the settlers according to the sources.

IOF fired rubber-coated metal bullets sound bombs and tear gas canisters which resulted in the suffocation of dozens of citizens.

Jewish settlers had attacked and destroyed chicken farms in Qusra and attacked farmers in the Ras Al-Nakhi area of the town’s lands.

In Kafr Qaddum east of Qalqilya five civilians were wounded with metal bullets during the clashes that erupted after IOF quelled the weekly anti-settlement march that demands the opening of the village main street which has been closed for 17 years.

Qusra and Kafr Qaddum towns are subjected to repeated attacks by IOF and Jewish settlers.

Qusra town has recorded more than 100 attacks by Jewish settlers over recent years during which they burned fields trees vehicles and a mosque.
