Casualties in clashes with IOF during rallies in West Bank

Violent confrontations erupted between Palestinian citizens and the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Friday in various areas of the West Bank after the launch of the weekly marches against the ever-growing Israeli settlement activity.

IOF soldiers fired live bullets tear gas and sound bombs which led to the injury of several Palestinian civilians with rubber-coated metal bullets while dozens suffered gas suffocation.

Bab Al-Zawiya
In al-Khalil clashes broke out between Palestinian youths and IOF in the Bab Al-Zawiya area. Local sources reported that IOF soldiers fired rubber-coated metal bullets tear gas and stun grenades at the citizens.

IOF soldiers climbed on top of houses near Bab Al-Zawiya and closed the entrances to Al-Shuhada Street and prevented citizens from accessing their homes according to the locals.

Kafr Qaddum
Murad Shteiwi the coordinator of the Popular Resistance in Kafr Qaddum Qalqiliya province stated that IOF attacked the participants in the weekly anti-settlement protest using metal bullets tear gas and sound bombs which resulted in the injury of 7 citizens including the journalist Nidal Shtayyeh in addition to dozens of suffocation due to gas inhalation.

Shteiwi explained that two casualties were taken to the hospital for treatment while the rest were treated in the field by the Palestinian Red Crescent crews who were present at the scene.

The protest was launched with the participation of hundreds of townspeople who called on the Emirati and Bahraini people to refuse the normalization of their countries with Israel.

Asira al-Qibliya
In Nablus several Palestinian civilians including a journalist were shot at and injured while others suffered breathing difficulty during clashes with IOF soldiers who used teargas and rubber-coated bullets in quelling the protest that erupted in Asira al-Qibliya town.

Hafez Saleh the head of the village council stated that IOF and Jewish settlers suppressed an activity to cultivate lands of Asira al-Qibliya near Yitzhar settlement. As a result three young men were injured with tear gas canisters that hit them in the face chest and foot respectively and they were taken to hospital for treatment.

Khillet Hassan
In Salfit dozens of citizens held Friday prayers in Khillet Hassan area which is located between Bidya and Sinyria towns. This area is threatened with confiscation by the Israeli occupation.

The region is exposed to repeated attacks by IOF soldiers and Jewish settlers and the event comes in line with the various protest activities that reject normalization and settlement.

The participants in the protests affirmed that the Palestinian people will remain attached to their land and will defend it denouncing the position of the UAE and Bahrain regimes for normalization relations with the Israeli occupation state.
