Causalities in al-Khalil arrests in West Bank and Jerusalem

Friday 20-November-2020

Dozens of Palestinian civilians suffered breathing problems on Thursday evening as the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired tear gas canisters in the Asida area in Beit Ummar town north of al-Khalil.

Muhammad Awad the media activist in the town said that IOF stormed the Asida area and climbed on top of some houses.

The IOF soldiers fired live bullets and tear gas canisters at the Palestinians and their homes. A number of Palestinians suffered breathing difficulty and the Red Crescent crews treated them in the field.

The Israeli police arrested on Thursday evening a young Jerusalemite near the Lion’s Gate in Occupied Jerusalem.

Jerusalemite sources said that the Israeli police took the young man to a detention center in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Palestinian sources reported that the IOF soldiers who are stationed at the Ezion checkpoint arrested Nahed Jumah Al-Jojo after he was taken from a vehicle.

Meanwhile the Israeli police closed Qalandia military checkpoint north of Jerusalem in both directions without previous warning.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli police closed the checkpoint and prevented the movement of vehicles moving from or to Jerusalem.

Qalandia is a Palestinian town located to the north of Jerusalem 11 km away from it and south of Ramallah 4 km away from it and an access road connects the town to the main road.

The occupation built the Separation Wall to isolate the village from its surroundings and steal what was left of its lands. Almost half of the village’s houses are threatened with demolition by the occupation under the pretext of building without a permit.
