The Palestinian cause and Jerusalem will always remain the core issue for all of us Turkey’s foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Saturday.
The remarks came during an address at the 14th Islamic Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
“Fifty years after the foundation of OIC we are still facing complex challenges regarding the future of the Palestinian cause and Jerusalem which was the immediate reason why we established this organization in 1969” Cavusoglu stated.
He stressed that a viable solution must be based on relevant UN resolutions and established parameters.
Cavusoglu affirmed that Turkey would not remain silent on attempts to re-write history in Palestine swap justice with economic benefits and ignore dignity and legitimacy.
“Any peace deal that does not lead to the creation of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine within the 1967 borders with al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital will be rejected by the OIC community” he said.
We will be held accountable before the Ummah (nation) and Allah if we fail to fulfill our commitment towards the Palestinian cause and al-Quds Cavusoglu added.
