Change and Reform asks Saudi authorities to release Khudari and others

Friday 9-October-2020

The Change and Reform parliamentary bloc (Hamas) has appealed to the Saudi authorities to release senior Hamas official Mohamed al-Khudari and other Palestinian detainees being held in the country.

“The continued detention of Dr. Mohamed al-Khudari in Saudi prisons is against all Arab values and ethics. It is arbitrary detention not serving the historical Palestinian-Saudi relationship” MP Mushir al-Masri spokesman for the bloc said in a press release on Thursday.

“Amnesty International’s plea for his release has reflected the size of suffering Dr. Mohamed al-Khudari is being exposed to” Masri said pointing out that Khudari had lived in Saudi Arabia for about half a century without doing anything harmful to its stature and security.

The lawmaker described the detention of Khudari and other Palestinians as “a dangerous precedent that had never been done by the Saudi Authorities throughout history” stressing that the Palestinian detainees in Saudi Arabia did nothing but serve their steadfast people and their national cause.

“We ask for the immediate release of Khudari and all the Palestinian detainees in Saudi jails because such thing is considered a stab in the back of the Palestinian cause and departure from the historical Saudi role in supporting and defending the Palestinian cause” Masri underscored.
