Children among 21 Palestinians arrested in West Bank raids

New Israeli arrest and raid campaigns were reported on Monday in the towns and villages of the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli army in a statement announced arresting 21 Palestinians in dawn campaigns and claimed that weapons were found in al-Ram and Doha towns in Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

Violent clashes broke out at dawn in Yatta town to the southeast of al-Khalil city during a raid by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) into the area.

Eyewitnesses told the PIC reporter that seven military vehicles stormed Yatta and raided and searched a number of houses.

They added that Palestinian youths in the town confronted the IOF soldiers by throwing stones and empty bottles while the soldiers responded by heavily firing live bullets sound bombs and tear gas canisters.

No arrests were reported in Yatta but four Palestinian citizens were arrested in other areas of al-Khalil province.

Local sources told the PIC reporter that the IOF arrested a Palestinian youth after searching his house and assaulting his family in Kafr Ra’i town in Jenin province.

The IOF stormed Ya’bad town to the south of Jenin arrested another Palestinian and confiscated his motorbike.

Three Palestinian children were arrested in a raid into Beit Fajjar town in Bethlehem and other arrests were reported in Ramallah Jerusalem and Qalqilya.
