Violent clashes erupted on Tuesday evening after Israeli occupation forces (IOF) broke into Jayyous town to the east of Qalailya city.
Local sources reported that the IOF soldiers raided the town in large numbers and erected a military checkpoint between the towns of Azzoun and Jayyous hindering the movement of the Palestinian citizens.
Arrest rates are higher in Jayyous town than other areas in the West Bank since it is subjected to almost daily raids and break-ins by the IOF.
In another context a Palestinian young man was shot and injured during the clashes that broke out in Tuqu’ town to the east of Bethlehem and ambulances were prevented by the IOF soldiers from transferring the injured youths to the hospital for treatment.
Local sources told the PIC reporter that the IOF soldiers showered the Palestinian youths with live bullets injuring Mahmoud Sabah 21 in the thigh and the pelvis.
They added that Sabah was taken to a local clinic before being transferred to the hospital to receive proper treatment. Medical sources described his health condition as serious but stable.
